Reimagine Music offers Cover for reinterpreting a song in a different style and Reference for creating new music inspired by a recording. These are two different creative goals. Choose Cover when the source itself is the piece you want to revisit; choose Reference when its rhythm, texture, or atmosphere is useful material for a fresh composition. Both produce separate generated audio rather than editing the original file in place. A recording and a clear direction are the inputs, while listening and deciding what to keep remain part of your process.

Match the mode to the musical task
Prepare a focused source recording
Upload audio no larger than 50 MB and check the detected duration. Cover accepts a source up to eight minutes. Reference accepts recordings from six seconds to thirty minutes. If the useful idea occupies only part of a long recording, prepare a shorter file in your audio editor before uploading. Leave enough context to make the phrase understandable, and avoid accidental silence, clipping, or unrelated material around the musical idea.
Choose a mode and describe the change
Select Cover or Reference, then describe the target style and arrangement. For example, ask for a gentler rhythmic feel, warm keyboard textures, and a gradual build instead of a dense opening. Choose whether the result should include vocals or be instrumental. That choice does not preserve the original singer’s voice. Before submitting, sign in and review credits and visibility. Free results are public; subscribers can choose private generated results.
Compare the interpretation with your intention
Listen to the source and the available generated candidates with the selected mode in mind. For Cover, ask whether the new treatment serves the piece you wanted to revisit. Questions about reworking a recording
Will a vocal result keep the original singer’s voice?
No voice-preservation or voice-cloning promise is made here. The vocal choice requests a generated result with singing; it does not identify and retain the performer from your upload. Evaluate the new performance as part of the generated interpretation rather than expecting a copy of the source vocalist.
Why can the same recording fit one mode but not the other?
The modes have different source-duration requirements and purposes. Cover accepts up to eight minutes, while Reference requires six seconds to thirty minutes. A recording outside those bounds needs to be shortened or otherwise prepared before submission. Both uploads are subject to the 50 MB file limit.
Does generation overwrite or modify my original recording?
No. The result is a separate generated track. Keep the original file and download any version you choose to use. A task or source preview is useful for reviewing the work, but it should not be the only copy of a recording or an important result.
Name the musical change before generating
Choose a recording with one clear idea, select the mode that fits your goal, and describe a change you can hear. Use the finished candidates to test that decision instead of expecting an unspecified improvement to the whole recording.
